Those of you who entered via blog comment left some great conversation starter questions, so I'm going to answer a few...

Kate asks: "When and where was your favorite meal?"
I don't know if I could pick just one favorite.  Some of the most memorable have been: at a now-forgotten bistro on a rainy evening in Paris - August 1999, the 20-course molecular gastronomy marathon at Moto in Chicago - April 2007, and the seafood stew at Como Agua Para Chocolat in Santiago, Chile - September 2009.

Tori asks: "If you could have any job in the world (and $ was not a factor), what would it be and why?"
Well, the truth is I love writing Second City Soiree and some of the related work that comes with it.  I suppose if I could incorporate a bit of travel to fun destinations it would then be the perfect job!

Jenny asks: "If were stuck on an island (given that food and drinks are available on the island) name 5 items you would bring with you?"
1) a book of scientific knowledge (biology, chemistry, engineering), 2) a very good knife, 3) an enormously large quilt, 4) lots of matches in a waterproof container  5) a fully-charged satellite phone so someone could come rescue me so I wouldn't have to use any of that stuff. :)   (although I do wonder about the chain of phone calls that would have to happen: "Hi, honey? Yeah I'm on an island. No, I don't know where. No, it's uninhabited. Look, can you just send someone to come get me? I don't know...the coast guard? Ok then, the navy. Um, maybe start with the local recruiting office?")
