LAST DAY OF SUMMER - Basil cocktails

Jen @ SecondCitySoiree This is it, kids. The last day of summer 2009.
Oh sure, yesterday was somewhat chilly and rainy here in the Second City, and it looks like today is starting off that way. You may have visions of apple cake, chili, and sweaters dancing in your head, but you know it's going to be 80 degrees again. When that day comes (which, according to Tom Skilling, is Wednesday or so) you'll want to have a refreshing cocktail, not a hot bowl of chili.
If your garden is like mine, you probably still have a lot of basil. So...let's make some basil cocktails! A nice change from mint, basil imparts a bit of delicate sweetness but also offers a savory balance.

From Apartment Therapy come two recipes: Strawberry-Basil Vodka Lemonade (you can easily omit the vodka if you wish...also, remember that strawberries are not currently in season), and Tequilla Lemon Basil, pictured above.
This one looks good, too: Lillet Basil cocktail (Lillet is an appertif available at larger liquor stores)
Another variation on lemonade: Lemonade Basil Cocktail with Vodka
....plus 16 more!

It's too late, I'm already in "fall-mode!" These do look wonderful though & yes, I have basil still lingering in my herb garden :)
Looks delicious! And basil is one thing I still have plenty of in my garden. Now, who wants to come over and try one on the front porch?
