GuestBlogger Our final guest blogger is Michelle with Everyday Celebrating. Michelle is an expert entertainer from Nashville who helps people create perfect events on minimal budgets. Enjoy!
At Everyday Celebrating, we talk a lot about how to create amazing children's or teen events on minimal budgets. One of my suggestions when looking for a theme is to first check out the Dollar Spot at Target. You'll really be surprised what you'll find there that you can build on to create a trendy event.
Right now, in most Target stores, you'll find these items which are perfect to build a Camp Rock style party. Let's get started!
These were the signs that caught my eye and started the wheels in motion. These are listed by Target as "attitude signs" but I immediately thought "placemats!" Take these signs and place them on top of a black tablecloth. Black automatically builds the edgy rock theme.
On to centerpieces! The Dollar Spot also had these adorable sleeve tattoos. Just slip them over your arms - instant rocker chic! OR... slide them on a cylinder vase to create a rocker style "inked" centerpiece.
What do you put IN the vases? For a more girly approach, go with red roses. Deep red fabulous roses!
Want to go a bit more whimsical? Place a blow up guitar on the top of your vase. Use double sided tape to tilt the guitar instead of standing it straight up so it covered more space on your table.
Oriental Trading has many many different guitars in an array of colors... even flames!

What about fun stuff to use for goody bags? Once again, the Dollar Spot has you covered:
Fun bracelets
They have great stickers that you can put in goody bags or use to dress up plastic food bowls, other decor, etc. And how cute is that Grateful Dead wrist band? Those could go around glasses!
Great keychains to put in your goody bags and also these cute notepads. I'd use these to create a game where the guests write their own songs and perform them later.
All of these are $1 a piece and help to put together a fun, inexpensive evening for children and adults alike. Maybe you're having a group over to play rock band! Halloween is coming up.. have your guests dress as their favorite rock stars and use these items as decor. Possibilities are endless. Get to Target before they run out!
