Gossip Girl parties - out on the town or in at home

Jen @ SecondCitySoiree Hi everyone! I'm back from South America and would like to give a big thank you to my wonderful guest bloggers! I hope you enjoyed their posts. I already have ideas for some posts inspired by the cuisine of Chile and Argentina. Look for them in the coming weeks.
Everyone has a guilty pleasure. We've all known the stuffy college professor who secretly listens to heavy metal, or the fitness fanatic who goes to the movies because it's the one place where she can eat buttered popcorn in the dark. While people are multi-faceted, I suppose you could paint me as a performing arts-supporting epicurean for whom the world stops turning at 8pm on Mondays, when it's time for what New York Magazine has dubbed "The Greatest Show of Our Time". I am talking, of course, about Gossip Girl.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, what hooked me on this "sincerely insincere" show is the clothing. In fact, my GG fashion blog has been relaunched and we're having a party! An advance ticket is $15 for drinks, appetizers, dessert, door prizes, and a fashion show. Oh, and watching the season premiere of GG in some very swank surroundings. If you're in the Chicago area, I hope to see you there!
If you live elsewhere, you can still have a Gossip Girl gathering of your own. Gather your friends for some light bites, including these inspired by episodes from the previous seasons:
Champagne Cocktails (really...pretty much any episode) or Vitamin Water ("Summer, Kind of Wonderful")
Cranberry Turkey Canapes ("Blair Waldorf Must Pie!")
Eclairs ("Gone with the Will") or Waffles with Yogurt (any episode with Rufus, and any episode with the Girls of the Steps. Purchase mini waffles, prepare according to instructions, and top with Greek yogurt and berries)
XOXO!
