Creepy and Retro Hitchcock Halloween Party (with FREE printables)

Jen @ SecondCitySoiree Looking for a Halloween party theme that is:
Fun, but sophisticated
Creepy, but not gory
...and a little bit retro?
This Hitchcock Halloween Party fits all of the above! I've put together some ideas to get you started, and there are free printables below.
Welcome guests with this wreath from Michael's, decorated with blackbirds from Pottery Barn, plus a bit of spider webbing from a Halloween shop:

It's a bird attack!! Once inside, guests pass through a curtain of origami cranes. Attach them with fishing line poked through the center of each bird, and hang on a dowel rod. Here's how to make the cranes.

If you have any extra cranes, scatter them throughout your party space.

What would an evening with Alfred be without his usual greeting? Recreate his famous silhouette and salutation with the free printables below.

More Decor
I'm going to go against my usual advice of not having the TV on, and say that this party is an exception! You can gather everyone for a showing of one movie, or have multiple TVs displaying different Hitchcock movies with the sound off...sort of like installation pieces.
Ask your guests to dress in retro attire, even imitating their favorite Hitchcock characters if they wish.
The mini movie posters (below) add a bit of color and remind everyone that it's just a movie!
Music
You must play Funeral March of a Marionette at least once! Hitchcock adopted this piece as the theme of his weekly Alfred Hitchcock Presents program. Besides that, most music from the 1940s to early 60s is appropriate.
Menu
Chicken would be a clever wink to The Birds or To Catch a Thief, as sandwiches are for Psycho. Don't overthink the menu - serve classic hors d'ouevre and cocktails that fit the period of his movies. Anything from this Mad Men party would be perfect.

Nice job Jen! I love the birds!
The Birds is one of the scariest movies ever! I still get a little creeped out when I see a gathering of crows. :)
thanks for the different ideas!
Love the "murder of crows". Very clever!
I can't get the links to work...the pictures come up too small
You mean of the printables? The images you see above are just resized thumbnails of the images themselves, which are quite large. If you right-click and select "view image" (or similar) they should blow up to their true size.
Nope...didn't work.
