I am thrilled to be guest blogging for Second City Soiree today! I thought since warm weather is on the horizon, it would be fun to share a cocktail recipe perfect for your summer cocktail for your next party. It is always fun to have a “secret ingredient” something festive to “wow” your guests. This summer mine is purple basil! Its not always easy to find, but make a trip to your local farmer's market to hunt for it; it's worth it!
The Purple Basil Mojito
- 2-3 Sprigs Fresh Purple Basil
- Ice Cubes
- Light Rum (depending on how much you desire)
- 1 Tablespoon Simple Syrup
- Club Soda
In a tumbler, muddle 1 lime wedge and basil. Fill tumbler with ice. Add rum and syrup. Top with club soda. Stir well. Garnish with remaining lime wedge. Serve.
* If you would like to adapt this to a non-alcoholic beverage replace rum with fresh lemon juice
