Elegant Black & White Dessert Party

After stumbling across the striking photograph at left, I was inspired to create a black and white themed party.  However, this isn’t any black and white affair. This is an after-dinner soiree full of decadent deserts and drinks, each with a black and white twist!

Decor

This party calls for simple, understated decor. Fill hurricane vases with black glass stones (about half way full) and insert a white candle in the center of each vase. Do the same with white glass stones and black candle sticks. Black vases with white roses will add a delicate and romantic touch to the room. Serve your guests on black and white striped plates.

Desserts

Carry the theme into your desserts.  Serve Oreo cheesecake, black and white angel food cupcakes, a variety of chocolate covered cherries, and vanilla flavored French macarons.  Don't forget the famous black and white cookie!

Drinks

Finish off the night with a rich chocolate martini or an ice cold White or Black Russian.
