Hip Gift Wrapping How-to

I love to wrap presents.

Well, no.  I love to decorate presents.  I do not love to wrap them, as I can never seem to judge the correct amount of paper to the box, and always end up with extra paper which I then have to trim.  I know I could improve this skill, but there are blogs to write, episodes of Mad Men to watch, cheese to eat, dachshunds to play with...

Once I get past the wrapping, though, it's open season with ribbons and contrasting trim!  If you also like to give your presents a little something extra, check out this hip tutorial on Make and Takes.

How best to determine the amount of paper you need just to wrap the present? I always end up with extra on each side that puffs up and make the present twice as big as it really is.

So cute - I love the colors, and the woven ribbon is a great idea. Thanks for pointing us to the tutorial!

If you discover that you have too much paper for the box, just trim it! Then you won't end up with a puffy present.
