Chic Plastic Goods for Outdoor Entertaining

Oh my...it's positively steamy out there! Like most of the city, I'm taking cover during these dog days and hiding in blissfully air conditioned rooms.

At night, though, temperatures creep down and it's time for an outdoor spread. After spending a few days at the Aspen Food+Wine Classic with the Plastics Make It Possible team, I discovered some chic looking and cleverly designed products made with outdoor entertaining in mind. Take a look!

(I know I went off on a fangirl tangent there at the end, but I was just so impressed with Plastics Make It Possible's sponsorship of the greening initiatives ...and it really does depress me when I see how much trash is generated at such events. Planning committees, please take note!)

Where to buy...
Pottery Barn - melamine dishes
Chive
- travel vase
Trex
- outdoor furniture made from milk jug "lumber"
Boisette Family Estates
- wine in plastic bottles

Just conducting a little field research... (photo by Ross Kribbs, Nugget Media)

What I like about these products is that they're 1) lightweight...good for concerts in the park, a day on the boat, etc. 2) made from recyclable materials, 3) sometimes made from reclaimed materials, and 4) they look good. Looks are important to me. You all know that. :)

Disclaimer: Plastics Make It Possible paid for my trip to the Aspen Classic. I only partner with products/brands I truly endorse and would purchase for myself or for friends.

Thanks for sharing the video, the bottle rack really looks great! While crystal barware will always have its place, we agree that that recycled and reclaimed plastic can really help cut down on unnecessary waste.
