Deliciously fun Wedding Cake Alternatives

And since everyone knows that cupcakes have been done to death, couples these days are getting more creative with dessert.
More often than not, the traditional wedding cake is taking a back-seat, or at least getting smaller to make room for a multitude of other desserts. Check out these fun and delicious ideas...
This cream puff tower make for a light yet satisfying end to the wedding feast.
This donut tower also offers bit-sized portions, but with a whimsical twist.
You might want to embrace the modern "dessert table" trend with a symmetrical selection that includes the traditional wedding cake AND other pastry goodness.
For those with a slightly more rustic-themed wedding, a pie bar would fit the bill.
And finally, one of my favorite ideas is to serve multiple mini-cakes that pull double duty as table centerpieces!

We did a mix of these when I got married two years ago. We had black bottom cheesecake cupcakes, a cutting cake, and a groom's cake of Krispy Kreme donuts. I love the creme puff tower and am drooling over the donuts! Looks delicious.
Love all of these ideas & the beautiful pics! It's wonderful that couples don't feel constrained by the traditional cake anymore! Sweet tables and alternative cakes are a perfect way to add a personal touch, I think! Seeing this makes me wanna have my own wedding sooner. It looks really magical seeing these beautiful cakes and all.
